About Us
Get to know Healthy HedgehogsHi guys!
My name is Rob if you haven’t already guessed, I’m a gym and health enthusiast!
I joined my local gym during my sixth form days after being teased about my skinny arms and chicken legs and can honestly say I’ve been hooked ever since.
I studied physical education at university and I am not a qualified personal trainer and part-time health a fitness blogger.
In my time at the gym, I’ve learnt a lot and learnt a lot about myself too, what suits me on a daily basis when it comes to gaining muscle, losing weight or whatever goal it is that I’m working toward and ultimately, how I should live a healthy lifestyle.
Obviously, I have days where I just binge on rubbish, or go out for a nice big tea with my girlfriend and have a few beers, or a night out with the gym crew or the boys, but by and large, I live my life in the fittest and healthiest way possible.
For me, its very important to have some ‘away’ and ‘persoinal’ time where I;m not stressing about having a slice of pizza or that I need to be up at 6 am to fit in a session, life is all about balance that even though many personal trainers wouldn’t agree, its how I best live my life.
I started this blog because I wanted to provide hints and tips on how you can make changes to your life for the better and I also enjoy writing so I figured why not start this blog.
As I became more and more involved in the gym and especially when I started personal training, I found myself getting asked all sorts of questions and learning that my clients were reading tips online about certain diets or fitness routines which just weren’t healthy so I wanted to combat the mass of misinformation on the web and give my readers an insight into the world of health and fitness from a professional’s point of view.
I’m on a bit of a mission to help as many people make positive changes to their lives as possible.
You may be wondering where the name Healthy Hedgehogs came from and honestly, I must ask myself every time I log on! My girlfriend calls me ‘hedgehog and whenever she was asking for advice she’d refer to me as her healthy hedgehog so the name kind of stuck and here I am today.
I do welcome contribution guest posts from fellow health and fitness lovers so please adhere to my criteria and I’d love to hear from you. Alternatively, if you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.
